Meet the Owner

Hi, I'm Angela.

If you've spent any time around Focus Fitness, you've probably seen me walking the floor, yelling at my computer, cleaning equipment, talking with members, carrying boxes, or chasing after Halo. Owning a gym isn't just what I do... it's who I am.

Fitness has been a part of my life for decades. As a competitive NPC Women's Figure athlete, coach, and now Level 2 HYROX Coach training for my first HYROX competition, I've experienced nearly every side of the fitness industry. I've stood on bodybuilding stages, ran 171 self-supported miles across the desert, climbed Everest Base Camp, trained endurance athletes, coached beginners who were terrified to walk into a gym, and worked with people who simply wanted to feel better in their own bodies.

But none of those accomplishments matter as much to me as building a place where people feel like they belong.

Before becoming a gym owner, I spent nearly twenty years in corporate leadership. It taught me a tremendous amount about people, culture, business, and creating strong teams, but I knew I wanted to build something that made a direct impact on people's lives every single day.

In 2023, I had the opportunity to take over the original Focus Fitness studio in Jacksonville Beach. A little over 2 years later, I expanded by acquiring our Merrill Road location with one goal in mind: to create a gym that truly had something for everyone.

Today, Focus Fitness is exactly that.

Whether you're walking into a gym for the first time, training for your first 5K, looking to lose weight, preparing for your next bodybuilding show, or chasing a HYROX podium, I want you to know that you belong here.

Around here, we don't believe fitness should be intimidating. We believe it should be encouraging. We celebrate consistency over perfection, progress over comparison, and community over ego.

When I'm not coaching or working on the gym, you'll usually find me training for my next challenge, writing, spending time with my dog Halo (our very unofficial official mascot), or dreaming up what's next for Focus Fitness.

My promise is simple: I'll continue investing in our people, our coaches, our equipment, and our community so that Focus Fitness remains a place where everyone has the opportunity to become stronger... not just physically, but mentally and emotionally too.
