More Than Just a Gym
Focus Fitness isn't just a gym... it's a community built on trust, relationships, and helping people become the strongest version of themselves.
Our story began more than 18 years ago with the original Focus Fitness studio in Jacksonville Beach. In 2023, I had the incredible opportunity to take over the business and continue the legacy that so many people had helped build. Today, we're proud to still have the same amazing coaching team that made Focus Fitness special, along with members who have been with us since the very beginning. That kind of loyalty doesn't happen by accident, it comes from creating a place where people genuinely feel like they belong.
In January 2026, we expanded by acquiring our Merrill Road location and bringing it into the Focus Fitness family. The vision was never to simply put our name on another building. It was to create a gym that reflected everything Focus Fitness stands for: exceptional coaching, a welcoming atmosphere, and a culture where everyone... from complete beginners to competitive athletes... can thrive.
Since then, we've transformed the facility from the ground up, investing in new equipment, expanding our programming, and becoming an Official HYROX Training Club. Today, we're proud to offer Jacksonville's premier HYROX training experience with official competition equipment, while continuing to serve members whose goals have nothing to do with racing. Whether your goal is to lose weight, get stronger, improve your health, train for your first 5K, compete on the HYROX podium, or simply feel better walking through life, you'll find the equipment, coaching, and support you need here.
We've been told we're "the everything gym," and we wear that title proudly. Under one roof you'll find strength training, functional fitness, HYROX, personal training, group fitness, recovery amenities, and a welcoming community that believes fitness isn't one-size-fits-all. Whatever your version of fitness looks like, there's a place for you here.
Focus Fitness is proudly locally owned by a Jacksonville woman (Angela Birch) who believes that great gyms are built on people, not memberships. We know our members by name. We celebrate victories big and small. We support each other through life's challenges. That's what community looks like.
And then there's Halo.
If you've visited either location, chances are you've met our four-legged employee of the month. Halo has become the unofficial (or maybe official) mascot of Focus Fitness, greeting members, accepting head scratches as payment, and reminding us not to take life too seriously. Truthfully, it just wouldn't feel like Focus Fitness without her.
