What is "Get Strong with Jeff Tong"

"The Get Strong with Jeff Tong" program is a strength specific small group training eight week program. The first of its kind at Focus Fitness and is developed to give a personalized strength training option to those who prefer the small group training model. The limitations of small group training will require completion of "Get Strong with Jeff Tong" seminars which will provide technique introduction and instruction of the basic barbell movements used for strength development. This will allow for efficient training sessions as everyone will be familiar with the squat, deadlift and press movements.

Why Train for Strength?

The way we interact with the world is through exerting force. When walking up stairs we exert a downward force against the step, when carrying a package or groceries we exert an upward force, opening a car door door is a horizontal force. The percentage of our maximum force production used to do things is basically how much effort it takes. If our maximum force production is low, a lot of effort is needed to do everything meaning basic daily things are hard and exhausting. Training for strength acquisition can double or triple maximum force production. This means the things you normally do take a half or a third of the effort. Everything becomes much easier. The same benefits apply for all aspects of performance, so even if your primary goal is to lose body fat and look better, the strength adaptions will increase your work output and reduce the time it takes to reach your aesthetic goals.

Who is the "Get Strong with Jeff Tong" program designed for?

The program is designed for anyone, but is especially created for those with no strength training history and will complement any existing general training and conditioning work.

 

 

 What are the "Get Strong with Jeff Tong" Seminars ?

The "Get Strong with Jeff Tong"  seminars consist of 3 small group seminars that each focus the fundamentals and techniques needed to obtain the most from strength training in the following disciplines: 

Seminar 1

Squats

Seminar 2

Deadlift

Seminar 3

Bench + Overhead Press

  You can attend one or all three of the seminars but you must complete all three seminar sessions in order to enroll in the "Get Strong with Jeff Tong" training  program.

 

 What is the "Get Strong with Jeff Tong" Training Program?

The "Get Strong with Jeff Tong" training  program consists of  8 1 hour sessions held over 4 weeks.  During these sessions you will train with Jeff in a small group setting.  During these sessions Jeff will help you apply the fundamentals and techniques learned during the "Get Strong with Jeff Tong" seminars to help you achieve you strength training goals.  Remember that to participate in the "GET STRONG" training program you must complete
